Skimmia are evergreen ornamental shrubs with leathery leaves, shiny buds and in spring and summer they delight with fragrant flowers. Skimmia is dioecious, which means that there are male and female plants. Male skimmias produce flowers, while female skimmias produce berries. Verboom Nursery only grows male skimmias with beautiful flowers. Our skimmias are available in the following three varieties:
Rubella
Skimmia japonica Rubella is a well-known and popular evergreen ornamental shrub that is often planted in gardens. The plant has deep red flower buds and leathery leaves. The plant has a compact growth habit and can be planted both in the garden bed and in pots.
