Skimmia are evergreen ornamental shrubs and have leathery leaves, shiny buds and in spring and summer they will spoil you with fragrant flowers. Skimmia is dioecious, which means that there are male and female plants. Male skimmias produce flowers and female skimmias produce berries. Nursery Verboom breeds only male skimmias with beautiful flowers.
